Born to Go: A Month on Mission

A real-life mission project where you get to live like a missionary on the mission field.

“How can young people participate in missions?”

This question marked the beginning of FromYouth team’s deepest and most important concerns.

We began to ask ourselves:
Rather than saying, “Let’s go on a mission trip,”
Would it be more powerful to say, “Come and live on the mission field”?
And if that is the case, what if we go first and live there ourselves?

The project that emerged from this very question is “Born to Go: A Month on Mission”.

Missions Are Not About Going, But About Living

This project is not a short term outreach focused on programs or ministry activities. It is a journey of staying on the mission field for an entire month, living alongside missionaries, eating together, walking together, praying together, and sharing everyday life.
It is a time to experience the confession that “mission is life” in a tangible way.
The core of this project is not consuming a place as visitors, but entering into the daily rhythms of the land as coworkers.

God’s Calling, and a Different Choice

During the first attempt in 2025, the team made the decision in prayer to lay down the country they had initially planned and instead enter a lesser known nation in Central Asia.
The repeated themes God placed on our hearts in prayer were “the marginalized,” “refugees,” “those who are crossing the Red Sea,” and “a new well.”
These themes aligned precisely with the stories and ministry of the local missionary we later connected with.
Although the country was unfamiliar to us, the team made the decision “to go and live there” with confidence that God was calling us.

Life with Refugees

In that nation, many migrants and refugees were living far from their homelands.
The team visited their homes, received hospitality, and shared life together.
With teenagers, we spent time playing soccer and hosting sports activities.
Rather than approaching them as people who came to “do ministry,” we met them as neighbors who live life together.
These moments profoundly transformed the From Youth team’s perspective on missions.

Inviting Young People into the Field

Midway through the month-long journey, Korean young adults who had applied in advance joined the team on field.
Together, they walked through key areas of the field and quietly worshipped, prayed, and observed the land; they had what we called a “scouting time”.
Through a lecture titled “Living as a Missionary” given by the local missionary, they encountered missions not as just an idea, but as a calling expressed through everyday life.

A Starting Point Nation

Although we cannot disclose the name of the nation, it is a strategic starting point from which many surrounding nations can be reached throughout Central Asia.
God’s vision is being planted for trained young people to be sent from this place into neighboring nations, and even now, those seeds continue to grow.

The Journey of From Youth team Continues

“Born to Go: A Month on Mission” is both a new form of missions that the From Youth team pursues and one of the ways God is calling the young generation in this era.
In 2026 as well, From Youth team will continue to respond to God’s voice, walking into deeper obedience and surrender.
