The Summer We Expected; The New Calling

May God’s grace and peace be with you. The summer we expected has arrived, and everything we anticipated for this season is now becoming a reality. The weather is growing hotter, the rainy season has passed, and it looks like the summer will last longer in the fullness of its power . Although everything happened as expected, it feels fresh and new as we experience it firsthand.

In the Gospels, Jesus spoke often about the last days. Just as He anticipated, we look forward to the day when God’s Kingdom will fully come to this earth.

Today, YWAM Jeju Campus is enjoying a blessed summer semester, filled with the grace of God. Champion Young People DTS, Crossroads DTS, and Senior DTS, which began in the spring of 2025, have successfully completed their outreach trips and returned. The DTS students who traveled through Central Asia, Eastern Africa, and Southeast Asia came back looking sun-kissed and lean but healthier than before.

During this summer semester, the final term of the 9-month Chronological School of Biblical Studies is underway, and the first term of the 9-month Fine Arts Foundations school has begun. Bible DTS, which has a focus on Bible distribution ministry, and POS DTS, which serves those who find themselves alone in life, are also enduring the heat of Jeju’s summer.

Perhaps it is the heat of summer, but the Thursday night worship services are growing hotter with passionate praise every week. We would like to invite you to The Tent, a monthly gathering focused on worship and prayer, every Tuesday evening.

Recently, I read a document from the British Bible Society titled “The Quiet Revival.” The document highlighted the increasing interest in the Bible among young people in their 20s and 30s in the UK, with interest in spiritual matters also rising. Although this revival may not be immediately visible, it predicts that change is coming soon.

We are praying for more young people to come to YWAM Jeju’s DTS programs. There are still many places where missionaries are needed. We need more resources for missions, especially young missionaries. We ask for your continued prayers and support as we desire to see the number of DTS students at YWAM Jeju multiply. Please pray with us, encourage young people around you, and support YWAM Jeju.
